TC asks Mets to Man Up and Play Better

I’m loving TC’s rant because it echoes what should be this team’s slogan.

Carlos Pena had this team pegged last year and now the manager sees it too. It doesn’t matter who isn’t in the lineup, it matters that you’re in the lineup.

Dig down, run hard. Use all 27 outs. Man Up. Play Better. I guarantee you that we will be able to say both about whoever wins the World Series.

2 outs to Boston, you’re about to lose the World Series. Do you quit? No, you get a single! That’s the kind of thing they retire your number for!

Now once again I’ll point out that when you’re chasing even the Pirates in the Wild Card (and hand them two games) you’re not going to make it to the postseason…but winning organizations are a build. Start with today. Man up. Play better. Demand the same from your teammates and your future teammates. Someone be the LoDuca. Someone be the Paul O’Neill. Someone be the Keith Hernandez who threatens to punch you in the face if you throw that pitch again.

There’s no better way to say it than Man Up and Play Better. Someone should put that on a t-shirt. I’d buy one.

  1. Looking up at the Pirates!….It doesn’t get any worse than that!…Plus the Pirates payroll is 1/3 of ours!

Are we the Pirates of the East?
