  1. I don’t think the 1 AB Saturday counts. 4-1. 5-3 if you include those other games.

This is great though, this is what kept the Phillies winning divisions the last two years, when they got injuries, somehow crap like Wilson Valdez played well enough for them to win. Our crap is better than that.

  2. it’s the Amazing, Amazing, Amazing, ugly-jerseyed Mets without Jose.

  3. it’s like when your kid goes through that awkward ugly stage .. you love them but you know that they look hideous. That’s what it’s like watching my Mets play in black.

its a disgusting look. I’d love to see a day when the Mets ditch all black from their uniforms. Nothing but white or grey with blue and orange.

  4. Why can’t we get a nice 6 or 7 game win streak going at home in pinstripes and blue caps, so baseball superstition can take over and our team can look great for the rest of the year?
Too much to ask, I suppose.

    1. I may be mistaken, but I don’t think we’ve seen the same pattern of riding the hot colors at home. They’ll win, then they’ll switch something up the next day anyway, either going from the pins to the whites or changing the caps & socks. Only the black duds seem to get the special treatment.

        1. Oh, and lost in the Butt-Uglies on the 16th and came right back to them on the 18th. What’s up with that?

  5. Here’s more math:

    Good pitching > jersey color
Good pitching > All-Universe leadoff hitter
    Consistently good pitching = titles

On a side note, it’s uncanny how the Mets seem to ALWAYS get hot heading in the All-Star break no matter what.
