Mike Piazza Likes the Blue Caps.

Hey guys. Shannon is away so I guess I am in charge again. Usually when he goes away the Mets and I am in charge here the Mets have breaking news. Last trip he took the Mets had no earth shattering news. Hopefully, it stays that way again for this trip.
Here is a pic of of The USA MLB Futures team Managers Mike Piazza (U.S. Team) and Luis Gonzalez (World Team).

They are two things to notice about this pic. Piazza is wearing a blue Mets Cap. I can picture Shannon smiling about this until he notices the second thing in this pic. The black Mets patch logo. That just would ruin his day. Thanks to the dailystache for tipping me off on this pic.

Need to get in contact with me this week or any other time? My email is [email protected] and my twitter is @mediagoon. Have a good week folks.

  1. Piazza should have worn the all-black cap in this instance (although perhaps he was not allowed to considering the fact that the players from the Mets’ farm teams also wore blue caps) because it would have gone better with both the logo patch and the black in the jerseys. As an aside, why did whomever designed the USA jerseys think that the names on the back in black-on-red would be a good idea? It made it difficult to read the name of players who all but the most dedicated minor league followers don’t know.

  2. Michael all that matters is that he wore a Mets’ cap which tells you where his heart lies. The fact that he was quoted as saying he has “FLOATERS” out there is ridiculous. Hey Fred, are you kidding me? One of the top five all time Mets (with a Dodger background no less) probably number two, to be honest, says that he wants a part time gig. Why has this not already been done. At a time (when isn’t there a time?) where you could use all of the fan friendly PR you can get, why is this NOT ALREADY DONE. Typical, just typical.
