First Half Uni Breakdown

I really have no idea what these numbers mean. I don’t really pay attention to the WABU,HATE, NANU NANU or JAR JAR uni stats that Shannon and Walt talk about. Walt the official unofficial Mets Police Uni tracker sent this over to me since Shannon is away. Good job by Walt for doing all this stat work.
For you guys who get this, enjoy.

Also guys, gals, and mercurians if you haven’t already check out BELIEVE written by Lori Martini. She is a die hard Mets fan and wrote this song from the heart. It is also one of the songs Justin Turner uses for his walk up music when batting. I am putting the link here so you guys can comment on her you tube page about what you think of the song. Here is the link for the official music video.

  1. Mets wearing snow whites in ASG, raising the question of course…who makes that decision? I bet the Commissioner’s office…otherwise you may have all sorts of alternate jerseys worn.

    1. Pretty sure every team has to wear their “official” homes and roads in the ASG.

Looking at the uni-stats, I must say the black tops on the road are vastly overrated as “lucky,” as they’re only 1/2 game up on the greys. The record in blue caps makes me want to cry.

      1. I was watching Mets Weekly recently and they asked the players for their favorite combos…almost all said the black. These kids of course have no sentiment toward team history. It makes sense.

I do have a strong feeling that someday the black will be gone…just don’t know when.

Nope. Mets wore hybrid unis (whites w/ road cap) in every NL-park ASG (IIRC) from 1998 or 99 on, until this year (or last year; not sure). “Official” home uni was pins & blue caps thru 2009, even though the hybrid was the de facto home uni during that time period. Heck, the grays & blue caps were still the “official” road uni until the early 2000s, even though it was never worn at all, let alone in an ASG, after 1997.

Wrong….please don’t spew facts that are incorrect:

        2. Ahh, I stand corrected. I didn’t remember that.

Is it really necessary, though, to use an obnoxious word like “spew”? I did qualify the statement with an “IIRC,” which in case you’re not aware, means “if I recall correctly”, and also indicated that I was “not sure.” That does not, in any rational universe, qualify as “spew[ing] facts that are incorrect.”

It is possible to point out an error, omission, mistaken or inaccurate recollection, &c., without being a Dbag. Try it sometime.

  2. Hey Guys keep it civil on the comments. We are here because we are fans that like to discuss topics not to attack each other. Use common sense and decorum.
