This has been a weird week. Usually when I’m on the road I can sneak in some late night posts, but I haven’t been “live” on the site since Monday. It’s been all Media Goon..anything with my name on it was worked on a few weeks back. Hey, planning!
Anyway, last night I felt guilty for making the Goon work so hard so I stayed up to clean the inbox.

Manager Davey Johnson had a clever solution. He alternated two pitchers — lefty Jesse Orosco and righty Roger McDowell — with one on the mound and one in the outfield. Orosco ended up catching a fly ball from future Hall of Famer Tony Perez. The Mets finally won in the 14th on a Howard Johnson three-run homer.
