Sports millionaires seem to think much differently than I do. If I liked where I worked, where I lived, etc… and my job was offering me millions upon millions of dollars to stay, I would, despite some other job offering me more. If I’m already a multimillionaire who cares?

I think you answered your own question. How would you feel if someone in your office made more money than you for doing the same job and you performed better than they did this year? Now how would you feel if all that info was public information? It would bug the hell out of me not to make what I thought I deserved. At age 35 at the latest, Reyes and all other ballplayers careers are on borrowed time. All they have after 40 are memories and their millions.
