Mets Police bomber planes are on way to Mets Today

My fellow Mets fans, I’m pleased to tell you that today I’ve signed legislation that will outlaw Mets Today forever.  We begin bombing in five minutes.

Here’s an excerpt from a recent article on Mets Today @lagranderusty sent me to upset me.

You want statistics? You love statistics, don’t ya?  Here you go:

2011 games played in black jerseys:              53
2011 games won in black jerseys:                  28
2011 games lost in black jerseys:                   25

2011 winning percentage in games played in black jerseys: .528%

Conclusion: For 2012 wear BLACK for the majority of the games and put drop shadow everywhere: layer it beneath the “TM” on the Mets baseball logo, use dark dirt under the bases, draw some across the players’ foreheads with eyeblack, and for good luck, slap a little Just For Men Mustache & Beard jet-black brush-in color gel on Keith’s upper lip.

I pre-wrote this one the other day since I’m out this morning.  In the unlikely event there is some horrible news story involving bomber planes I apologize to everyone.

Be sure to read 99% of the articles on Mets Today, just not the ones about uniforms.

  1. Actually, the Mets wore black jerseys 55 times (10 at home, 45 on the road). Amassing a record of 29-26 (7-3 at home, 22-23 on the road).

If you want to get crazy, numbers show the Mets should wear Hybrid hats ALWAYS.
In the 46 times (10 at home, 36 on the road) the Hybrids were worn, the Mets went 28-18 (7-3 at home, 21-15 on the road). That’s a ~.609 winning percentage.

But also using that logic, the Mets should always wear the Stars & Stripe caps, since they have a .667 winning percentage wearing them.

  2. They were also 2-1 in blue jerseys (Los Mets and BP)…that equates to 108-54 over a full season…where have I seen that record before?
