The biggest beneficiary of Endy Chavez’s famous catch wasn’t the Mets, who went on to lose Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS to the St. Louis Cardinals. It was arguably AIG, the insurance giant whose ad on the left-field wall at Shea Stadium became forever linked to the catch.
