For MetsPolice.com: now what?

Here’s another one of those “sticky posts” that will sit up top all day.  New content will roll out below.

Following the amazin’ events of VB Day and the return of Banner Day, the looming question is Now What?

I’m really tempted to call it a day and end the blog.

So much of the list has been checked off.  Uniforms.  Banner Day. Cheap seats in LF.  Some cheaper seats coming to RF.  You got your blue fence.

I don’t want to hang around and nitpick Old Timers’ Day or blue buttons on caps.

For the last few years I have stated the goal of the blog was for the Mets to win the World Series while dressed nicely.  Well we have half of the mission accomplished.  I might as well see the whole thing through.  Maybe Colactus can pull off another miracle, win it all in 2012 and I can walk off like the Beatles.

In the meantime, I am fortunate enough to have some level of influence in Flushing.  It might be small, I may be kidding myself, but Flushing will at least return my emails.

So let me be your advocate.  I’ll be here for you, ready to do my thing.

  1. SHANNON! You made my day with this post.

I was really worried that you would quit blogging just like a lot of other quality mets blogs did over the last two years.

Do you wanna know which blogs i read daily (more than once a day)?
    MetsBlog
    MetsPolice
    Rubin’s Blog
    and
    FaFiF

Looking forward to another year of MetsPolice and as always
    LETS GO METS!

    Greetz from Germany

  2. You’re a superb communicator whose talents reach well beyond your lovably incessant bitching and moaning about the seemingly trivial. Hang in with us at least until the World Series part is accomplished. Then take a week off — but no more than that.

    1. Thanks for liking the site Patrick. Shannon really works hard at it.
Maggie- that was one of my face photoshops to do. I just hope that doesn’t make me Robin.

      1. Goon, if you are Robin then I guess I am Gordon (especially since I am the oldest and the only one that uses their name)

  3. AS always great job- Shannon

Talking strictly about the stadium / while it would never happen because now that it’s the name it would be a PR nightmare – But I wish the rotunda which I love aesthetically wasn’t the 42 rotunda Im all for a memorial but not the whole rotunda. those tile pics should 69, 86, Ventura, even Beltran jumping into home on that memorable walk off.

I’d also like to see some of our greats get brooze statues areound the park – walk into the rotunda to Seaver in his famous finish over left knee. Doc by the shake shack with his knee near his ear – Straw in his battle stance at the bullpen entrance..

Don’t get me wrong I love Citi and feel they responded very well to the critiques but if im asked that would enhance the place.

Uni’s always hated the black glad to see it go we are blue, orange, white and grey – black is the Raiders – love the blue jersey I understand the league rule but can they get them out early to purchase dont want the Los and its killing me to get one.

Finally they need to retire a few more numbers, lets honor our greats for their on the field actions and not punish for their personal but public demons

  4. Nothing wrong with Robin. And I wouldn’t mind being Batwoman, except I do no work from my end, so couldn’t take that credited title.

  5. I chuckled as soon as I saw that graphic. The “I want to Believe” graphic, couple of months ago, was also hysterical; many kudos. Goon did a great job. As with Patrick from Germany, this blog is a must read on most days. Don’t retire the blog just yet…really.
