I’m excited about Banner Day and want to make sure I am in town. Dave said it will likely be before a Sunday afternoon game in late May or early June so the weather will be good.
Looking at the schedule…
The Mets are on the road on May 13th and 20th. They are home on Sunday the 27th vs. the Padres, but it’s Memorial Day weekend. The celebration would get lost in the vacationing press.
June 3rd they host the Cardinals. A traditional old-school team. Seems right.
June 10th is a road game (Yankees).
June 17th is Father’s Day and they host the Reds. But it’s Father’s Day. Is that the right time for Banner Day? Maybe it is. Is the 17th “early” June (now that’s nitpicking).
June 24th is home against the Yankees so it’s not then.
