The New York Mets will be 50 years old this season and three of the original Mets will be among the honorees at the 76th anniversary banquet of the New Jersey Sports Writers Association on Jan. 22 at the Pines Manor in Edison. The three 1962 Mets are pitchers Al Jackson and Jay Hook and outfielder Frank Thomas.
