Here’s a Citi Field oddity that you may never see again. The New York Mets listed on the out of town scoreboard…and under the American League! I was not at any of the concerts or soccer games that have occurred at Citi Field, so I can not confirm if they operated the scoreboard for those. Anyone know?
This was taken during the St. Johns vs. Georgetown exhibition game before Citi Field opened. New Mets Hall of Fame selectee John Franco threw out the first pitch. Another weird thing I noticed from the game was the odd clank of aluminum bats. I don’t have a picture of that though.
at the “last plat at shea” screening back in august ’10, they had the mets up there at pittsburgh. also had the game on some of the tvs. it was crazy, but really cool, to see.
Here’s Franco before that first pitch…

Auto Draft! (I didn’t type that, i swear)
Thanks Goon.
I am trying to UN Auto draft it. Its a quirk when you are writing a post and bounce between pages and try to add media. Happens now and then.
That was me. I hadn’t done that in a while!
Strange but interesting.

I was actually at that Mets-Orioles game in Ft. Lauderdale. About a week before their last game there. It rained that day in south Florida. Mike Pelfrey went 2/3 of an inning before getting pulled in the delay, and I swear it ruined him for the season since it was his last start of the spring.
