Tom Seaver pitches an inning in 1973 World Series (video)

These have a way of disappearing so watch this right now while you have time on your day off.

Kids, this is Tom Seaver. He was the best. And that’s Lindsey Nelson on color.

See the nice uniforms?

Mike Pelfrey may want to watch this video. Notice how Tom throws the ball right back as soon as he gets it. He doesn’t walk around the mound and ponder life’s big questions.

  1. That’s Curt Gowdy, Sr. calling the game, with Lindsey Nelson as color and Tony Kubek, also. Gowdy Jr. runs the Madoff Network/SNY.

  2. awesome clip!!!  how did anyone get a hit off that guy?  unforms looked awesome.  guys wore them extra tight back then though. get the ball, think for a sec and throw it.  batters didnt walk around either.   having the score/count/inning thing while watching today is a huge improvement.

  3. Mets lost that game…then won next two to lead the series 3-2. Yogi then made the fateful decision to skip George Stone and pitch Seaver on short rest. It wasn’t totally crazy, but is the all-time Mets second guess. It took me exactly 13 years to get over it.
