All good things…

162 wins wasn’t going to happen, but 108 (plus eight) still can, and if you offered me a 4-1 start with Santana going to the mound I would have taken it. I’ll take 8-2 and 12-3 etc.

It’s very tempting to go the “here we go again” route and panic about David, but remain calm. The team has yet to get anything out of Ike or George Foster in left, and the season remains to be about the pitching.

We knew second and right would be shaky defensively, so better to get all the suck out in one bad inning and one not so terrible C-team loss than to drop a fly ball in the 9th in a tight game.

I still think it was foolish of Colactus to play Duda at first and Nick Evans in right as long as he did last year. Reap what you sow.

One blog says there’s a possibility of Murphy at third. I hate the idea of bouncing this guy around again, but if David is out for some time it just doesn’t make sense to run a subpar defense out there when you have an option.

Faith will be rewarded friends. Santana goes to the hill today, let’s head to Philly 5-1.

  1. I admire your ability to stay positive…negativity about my baseball team was passed down from my preceding generation of fans of the Bums.

That said, assuming Wright is not out for the year (only half-joking sadly), his injury could not come ay a worse time to mess up his great start. Do we need to teach how to slide back into a base now?

What really has me nuts is Ike Davis…he looks lost in a forest…starting his long swing way too early to identify the pitch. Keith alluded to it last night…if I see it, the coaches must. I have this real funny feeling…and could probably get great odds on it…that Jason Bay will have more RBI this year than Davis.

    1. It’s too early to go in the tank. They are up a game, no?

Its a little early to give up on Ike. Foster has been around a while, he gets a shorter leash.
Plus Murphy can play LF, 1B, 2B and 3B simultaneously. Like the King and His Court.
