A bit of a cheat here since Gooden technically was no longer a Met, but it was heart-breaking to hear that Doc had been suspended for a year. As great as the 1990’s are going for the Mets I won’t be surprised if Gooden winds up throwing a no-hitter for the Yankees and getting a ring.
Dwight Gooden, continuing to test positive for cocaine use, received a career-jeopardizing penalty yesterday. A free agent who is no longer a member of the Mets, Gooden was suspended for the entire 1995 season.
