Former Mets Pitcher(wearing drop shadow) Catches Rivera’s First Pitch

Mariano Rivera threw out the first pitch of the game last night to John Franco. Walt sent these pics into us and pointed out that Franco snuck in the Drop Shadow but didn’t go full black jersey. Is this a Franco personal jersey, or did the Mets give this to him to wear instead of a newer ASG patched jersey?

  1. This is one of Franco’s personal jerseys, I believe. Has a Rawlings logo on the left sleeve under the Mets logo, and I thought I saw the 40th Anniversary logo on the right sleeve, though I could be mistaken. Pretty sure he unearthed this one from 2002.

  2. Wish we could have swapped these two back in the day. We would probably have two rings (2000 and 2006) and a few more appearances. Sigh……
