Went to Fan Fest for the first time ever today. I have to say it was pretty cool. I thought it would have been more crowded then it was(been to two NY Comic Cons at the Javits Center.Place is a zoo). I took my girlfriend with me who is not a huge baseball fan but is starting to really get into baseball and the Mets now. She even enjoyed the Fest and was bummed we both have to work tomorrow and can’t go to it another day.
I almost cracked today. I had a Harvey jersey in my hand but even I couldn’t bring myself to pay the asking price of $180 for it when I knew I could get it cheaper at other locations. Now for guys like my buddy Terence (@tezzanymets) who was complaining to me on twitter about how hard it is to find the ASG jerseys at any stores outside of the 42nd street Modell’s I feel you. I tweeted about how I couldn’t find any jerseys in the 4 Modell’s that I went to in Queens and Terence was telling me he couldn’t find any in the five stores he tried. It sucks. But I wasn’t going to drop $180 there and I don’t suggest any of you guys do either. If you can’t get to Midtown where it seems that’s the only place to get the ASG jerseys as of now, I would order online. I am still waiting for my Wright ASG to be delivered, so I know it will suck not having it until after the game.
But here are some things I did buy.
