@dtwohig’s Mets Library #35 & #36: Taking The Field & Wilpon’s Folly

We know jerseys.  We know bobbleheads.  But  the ins and outs of actually running a team?  No thanks.  The financials alone would drive many of us to tears.  Not Howard Megdal though.  In the last 2 years Howard has published 2 books on the Mets.

In Taking the Field, Howard openly campaigns to be elected the GM of the Mets.  It’s a fun read and it’s clear that he knows the team and its workings pretty well.

Howard followed it up with the ebook Wilpon’s Folly.  The book received a lot of attention – deservedly so – as it is arguably the most in depth investigation of the Wilpon’s finances particularly surrounding the Maddoff ponzi scheme.
