Man. The Mets organization at times can’t get out of their own way. Let me start this out with the ticket reps are great. I have never had a problem with dealing with the reps in the ticket office or my personal ticket rep. I have found that they are always trying to help out the fans while still trying to do their jobs as salesmen. That being said, I have no idea what goes on in the levels above them when it comes to promotions. We have covered the different 4 for $48 promotions and the other specially priced games in the past that have made longtime plan holders give up their ticket plans. Example: Shannon Shark had a plan since Shea was around and now he dropped it. He just got fed up like many others.
Now I stuck with my 20 game plan for this upcoming season, I even upgraded my seats(cue the boos and what are you, a moron? Comments.). But I enjoy going to games in “my seats”. One of the perks of being a plan holder is that you are supposed to get first shot at pre sales for any non baseball event at Citi Field. Now here’s where it goes all nutty.
The Foo Fighters as part of their deal for renting out Citi Field as part of their tour got a certain number of tickets to pre-sale themselves to fans. That happened two Saturday’s ago. It was to “beat the bots” so real fans of the band would get a shot at tickets unlike the ticket broker bots that bought a chunk at Wrigley last year shutting out fans. Okay cool I get it.
So I inquired about how come the plan holders weren’t notified about any pre-sales for us. I was told Dec.1 would be the date for our “exclusive” pre-sale. I passed that around to the ten or so plan holders that had contacted me about not getting any kind of email about this pre-sale.
Days go by, no email telling us about the pre-sale. No contact at all. The ticket office tells me they are supposed to send an email out before Dec 1. As of yesterday, still no emails. I email my rep and he was shocked that none of the emails were sent out. He told me that they would be sent out before the 10am pre-sale kicked off and to let him know if they didn’t. At 10:05 still no email. So I called in 2 times to try to get through. Got the old our agents are busy recording. I called back right away and got through almost immediately. Got to a ticket rep and put my order in. I told him that as plan holders we never received any emails about the pre-sale and I heard that the flushing flash went out telling about the pre sale for that which was at the same time as the plan holders pre-sale. What happened to our exclusive pre sale just for plan holders? Isn’t that one of our “special benefits” as plan holders?
Now unlike certain other bloggers in the past who got a ticket rep fired because she didn’t like his answers about the Mets not signing Reyes, I know it’s not their faults. Man, can the Mets screw up something cool.
So what I’ve learned is the Mets still have bad communication with their plan holders, have bad communication interdepartmentally in certain departments and don’t know what “exclusive pre-sale” opportunities for plan holders means.
Oh yeah, do you know what time me email came for my “exclusive” 10am pre-sale? 10:26 am that’s when. And then I got the flushing flash pre-sale at 11:01am. And not to be forgotten how about the live nation pre-sale I got at 11:45am for my “exclusive” pre-sale from them.
One other thing I heard was if you went into the pre-sale online for the Foo fighters you went in through ticketmaster then it sent you to mets.com then to tickets.com. Damn I am so dizzy from this.
