Just In: Mets future moved to 2016 (or later I guess)

One time I remember it was the 9th and they sent up Muno, Reynolds and Recker in the middle of a pennant race.

Good morning Mets fans,

I feel like I am writing the same thing every day, but the BIG TOPIC is so obvious to everyone except the real estate development company.

The big story in Queens this morning is that one of the old-timey News Papers decided to jump on the “time to make a trade, the Mets need bats” bandwagon that those of us living in the digital age have been harping on for two weeks.  (And thus I’d assume you will hear the same thing on an old style Amplitude Modulation broadcast around 7:10 tomorrow morning.)

Those of you paying the (bleep) attention knew this two weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the article is an interesting read, and if you pair it with Michael Baron’s take here ( The winds of change and altering the degrees of Mets realities « Just Metswe all come to realize that…

The future is

When the Bay and Santana contracts expire.

When the young pitching arrives.

When Harvey gets back.

When the young pitching arrives.

Some indeterminate future which is not in 2015 when you’re in a pennant race.

2016 when Wright is back and healthy and playing MVP baseball, those albatrosses Colon and Murphy are gone, we have a rookie second baseman and an MVP third baseman, and besides getting Wheeler back will be like a mid-season free agent acquisition!

They may be a half game out but keep an eye on that whole “three games over .500” part of the record and check back with me after a week of the Giants, Braves and Blue Jays.
