Super Secret Mets Banner Day Is Sunday Don’t Tell Anyone

I kinda loved this.
I kinda loved this.

Pssst.  I heard that the Banner Day parade is this Sunday.  I don’t think the Mets want you to know or they would mention it.  Or Branden, Alexa and Whatshername could get all fake excited about it.  Or Gelbs the judge could mention it.  Or they could make Ron Darling read some copy.  Or Chris Carlin could mention it in one his hilarious tweets.

Anyway, it’s a secret so don’t tell anyone.   Fortunately I have the leaked info from last month.  As an aside, the no social media handles thing is silly, it’s 2015 guys.  Even if someone walks around with #joesplumbingtwentydollarsoffspecial who cares?

FLUSHING, N.Y., May 11, 2015 – The New York Mets today announced Mets broadcasters Howie Rose and Steve Gelbs along with WOR morning show personality Todd Schnitt will serve as judges for Banner Day, Sunday, June 14 at Citi Field. Tickets start at $15 and are available at Mets.com/BannerDay and (718) 507-TIXX.

Banner Day was a Mets tradition from 1963 to 1996 with fans of all ages parading on the field showing their homemade banners made from bed sheets that professed their love for the team. Banner Day returned in 2012 as part of the Mets’ 50th Anniversary season.

Fans planning on participating in the pre-game, on-field parade on June 14, should follow these guidelines:
