I tend to agree. The idea that someone is going to use their phone as a phone, sit on hold for twenty minutes, then talk for one minute is absurd in 2015. I feel bad for Pete McCarthy, who I think is fantastic, when he has to take call after call from guys in their 80s who add nothing to the conversation.
There was a time when Howie Rose’s Mets Extra was must-listen can’t-miss, and the young Howie Rose was a gunslinger. You may recall the Mets eventually forced WFAN to do a No-Howie zone right after the game.
