Yes. Yes. I know Utley is a dirty player. We have seen it in the past with him while he played all those years in Philly. I am not happy at all with Tejada having his fibula broken. It is a shame a damn shame. I have been reading on twitter that some fans want to bring in batteries to toss at Utley at tomorrow’s game. If you folks are being serious you are no better then Phillies fan that Utley used to play in front of. As fans we have the right to be upset, to boo the hell out of the other team players, and to hope that our Mets team uses this to fire themselves up.
Am I hoping that the Mets police this themselves and get some sort of payback. Yes. I admit that I am. What we don’t need are 40 thousand something vigilantes tossing stuff at players on the field. Most of you would just hit a fellow Mets fan doing something like that,
Just enjoy the game. Let’s see what Karma has in store for Utley and let us not resort to Phillies fan type tactics. Be cool people. Be cool.
Also here is what some MLB Players have said about the slide.
Jose Reyes @lamelaza_7
that was a really weak attempt at a slide by utley
You change the rule at home, how do you not change the rule at 2nd?
Like it or not, Utley plays hard and I would want him on my team.
It bothered me to see Utley’s slide and the way he went after Tejada. Being a 2nd base man he needed to think how to break the DP not his leg
Since when was starting your slide past the bag OK? I get that you’re playing hard but that was not a slide, that was a dive! #cmonman
If that was a superstar shortstop we would have a Tulo Rule being enforced tomorrow
