Is MetsPolice.com ending soon?

daniel murphy thanks mets

I attended NLDS Game 3 with Paul Lukas who asked me, “So, are you really ending the site?”

And I told him I have been thinking about it a lot.

For years I have said that when the Mets won the World Series while dressed nicely that I would do once last post covering the parade and then walk off.  Maybe even post a Mission Accomplished banner.

Paul asked me if I’d really do that.

As I soul-search, there is some definite appeal to walking off like The Beatles.  The site will have fulfilled its mission. The black uniforms are gone, the Mets pay attention to their history, Banner Day returned and a World Series may be near.  Then there’s the double bonus of Daniel Murphy being awesome and perhaps he too is ending his days in Flushing.

Sure, I could stick around and keep posting stuff.  Sure, I could bitch about the 2016 ticket prices and how cheap ownership is when they don’t re-sign whoever, and Matt Harvey is a winter blogger’s dream.  Yet, that seems derivative.

There is definite appeal to walking into the sunset with Murph and putting a bow on 2008-2015 and dropping the mike/keyboard.

This is all a moot point if the Mets don’t finish the job.  I believe they are going to, and that post about the parade will happen.

I can tell you that I’ve definitely decided what I plan to do.  For that to be revealed, the Mets need to win four more games while dressed nicely.

However this ends, thank you all for reading, it’s been a fun eight years so far.  LGM.
