“As a legal issue, I don’t think it’s even a close call,” Lancman said in a phone interview. “It’s clear that this parkland was originally alienated only for the purpose of Shea Stadium and now successor Citi Field. So a shopping mall has absolutely nothing to do with a baseball stadium.”
