Your boycott of “the Wilpons” just got a lot harder

Who's supporting Fred and Saul, even when you skip baseball? You do. You do!
Who’s supporting Fred and Saul, even when you skip baseball?
You do. You do!

I know many of you conveniently stopped boycotting the Wilpons last fall (nice to see that one formerly boycotting family in particular Supporting The Wilpons at Citi Field last night), but for you die hard boycotters, things just got a lot harder.

It looks like Disney is going to be invested in BamTech, which as I understand is part of that streaming thing that baseball does for other folks.

Who owns BamTech?  Baseball owners.  Like “the Wilpons.” (I use that term in the casual way people refer to Mets ownership.)

So, let me remind you of the extent of your boycott of “the Wilpons” if you are truly committed to your principles.

  • Obviously you don’t attend any Mets games.  Pretty straight forward.
  • You may not want to watch the Wilpon owned SNY.
  • Listening on the radio gets dicey since the Mets charge for broadcast rights

So far, pretty easy.

  •  Buying any Mets caps, jerseys, t-shirts?  All licensed.  Sorry.
  • That Mariners jersey you bought?  Oh, sorry all merchandise is part of the central fund…”the Wilpons” got a cut.

Getting harder, right?  That’s what she said.

  • Don’t forget that BAM, owned by baseball owners, streams things like WWE and the NHL.  Better not watch any Rangers games.  The richer hockey gets, the more they can pay their streaming company which is owned by you know who….

And now that Disney is a business partner

  • You may wish to cancel your trip to Disney World.  Your trip to Epcot funds Disney, who then turn around and give money to “Wilpon” owned businesses.
  • Disney owns Star Wars
  • Disney owns Marvel Universe.  You may want to avoid buying Deadpool pajamas.
  •  It’s going to be taught to not watch ESPN, ABC, Lifetime or any of the other fine Disney owned products.

Also remember that MetsPolice.com often promotes “the Wilpons” promotional items, and their TV network, and even talks to Wilpon-paid executives at the annual Queens Baseball Convention.  So be sure to include me and this site in your committed boycott.

Now that’s quite a list.  I personally think your Wilpon boycott is silly, and that you don’t even abide by it.

Be like me, and support the Wilpons! Enjoy baseball games in person!  Watch and listen to the fine broadcasts! Go see Star Wars!  Stream a Devils game!  Watch a Lifetime movie!  Buy a t-shirt!

Life is short!  Don’t boycott! Enjoy!
