I love this sign.
Yes, this is really something that’s cool about the Giants, but (a) the Mets played at the Polo Grounds and (b) I don’t want this series to just be a list of players.
When I visited SF I was happy to see this sign. We share a logo and a stadium with the team of our ancestors. It’s kind of like visiting the land of your grandparents (well, the opposite since we’re still home and our grandparents moved to San Francisco) and I like the connections like this.
The Phillies have done a similar good job acknowledging that things like the Philadelphia A’s existed, and of course the Mets let their love of the Brooklyn Dodgers be known.
