100 Random Cool Mets Things #51: 1967 Mets Program

I am having a ball diving into the random corners of the 1960s…and now I have stumbled into the

wonderfulness of googling Mets Scorecard and a year.

Check out this one…

1967 mets scorecard

Now what’s catching my eye here is the interstate designations:

  • note the Clearview/Throgs Neck has its original 78 designation.  78 would have continued with the Clearview extending down to JFK.  If you’re of a certain age you remember 78 designations on the old Nassau Expressway stub.  Then some day they would have extended 78 across Atlantic Avenue, through Manhattan and linking with the Holland Tunnel.
  • Look at how the LIE doesn’t hold interstate designation west of 278 nor east of the Clearview.  I remember the old State Road 495 signs, but hadn’t seen the SR 24 signs to the west.
  • Looks like the Hutch had some 1A designations.

Cool stuff.
