I went back and forth on if I wanted to slap the word “cool” on this, but I decided it fit the spirit of the series. As I was looking for things I found this is in the 1973 Old Timers’ Day program. Very devastating. I really can’t imagine how shocking Gil’s death must have been.
That year it looks like the Mets faced a squad of Yankees/Dodgers/Senators (Gil managed the Senators). Maybe the Giants teamed with the Mets?
