Hello there! I have a question for you. Why are you in such a hurry to get rid of Jay Bruce?
I know The Narrative has decided that Bruce must go.
But The Narrative also didn’t want Colon here until they did and The Narrative was that Murph sucked and The Narrative doesn’t like Jose Reyes because of some off-field stuff until The Narrative decided it did.
Some thought starters for you:
- Jose Bautista will get $18M in 2017. He was .234 22 and 69 in 2016. Jay was .250 33 and 99. $13 million.
- I know you want Conforto to play. Guess what, he can play. The manager gets to pick three OFers and could start Granderson, Cespedes and Conforto! Double so if the General Manager tells the Field Manager what to do.
- Baseball teams are allowed to pinch hit
- Baseball teams are allowed to make defensive substitutions (I know some of you also want Willie Mays Lagares out there)
- And hold on to your caps….sometimes Mets players get….are you ready for this?….sometimes Mets players get injured! Yes, it can happen. You could find yourself with Ty Kelly starting in a major league lineup.
- I’m glad you feel the Mets are spending too much on players. Remind me of that when you’re complaining about the cheap Wilpons in July.
- I know Bruce sucked with the Mets. His stats were .219 8 and 19. Pretty bad. Imagine if he had gone .226 7 and 14 AND still had $62 million in contract left. Then you’d really want him gone!
Keep him. He doesn’t have to actually play every day. Nobody does.
