Good morning. I’m heading off to the west coast so
a) any time I travel the Mets announce something massive, and it’s usually bad. So expect to hear (insert player here) isn’t doing well and (setback news something. )
b) the morning laziness may or may not be late tomorrow depending on when I can get to it.
c) I’m supposed to be back Tuesday and this blizzard is gonna hose me isn’t it? Lots of airport tweeting coming up.
Anyway, the Morning Laziness is here now. Here’s what to read…and what not to read.

Some folks thought I was kidding when I pointed out some of the teams in the WBC. France. New Zealand. South Africa. Pakistan.
Anyway, I continue to dislike this thing. I’m still waiting to hear that Reyes hurt his leg or something playing in it.
They should place this in place of the All Star Game every 4 years, in July, and make a BFD of it And keep it to the elite baseball countries – the ones that actually have baseball leagues that generate more than the occasional major leaguer. And stop with the nonsense where we pretend someone is “from” some country because of their grandparents. I know soccer does this but it’s stupid. All my grandparents are Irish but I grew up in Queens and have never been to Ireland – so me playing for Team Ireland in the WBC is silly. At that point just have Team Nike play Team Under Armour, no? What’s really the difference?
