Not sure if you found this out from the other blogs and newspapers but today is Opening Day and Noah Syndergaard is your starting pitcher.
If you are heading to the game
a) hook me up with stuff to post. I can’t make it today. Email me at shannon at metspolice.com or tag me on twitter @metspolice
b) here is the 2017 Mets Police Guide To Being Cheap About Parking Near City FIeld
c) I wrote a brief Opening Day thing
d) tell my boss to wrap the 11:30 meeting. We all wanted to have it at 10. Sigh.
e) DON’T BOO ANY METS. DON’T BOO TRAINERS. DON’T BOO JAY BRUCE. DON’T BOO
f) DON’T BOO COLON. DON’T BOO DICKEY. You loved them both.
g) remember, one beer at a game is good. Two is ok. 8 is unnecessary.
h) Shake Shack isn’t worth missing 4 innings.
i) go to the bathroom now unless you want to miss 4 innings. Citi Field cannot hold a crowd. Citi Field cannot hold a crowd. Citi Field cannot hold a crowd.
j) heeeee struck him out is so lame and really is the worst thing about the T-Shirt Enthusiasts. Hopefully Thor does not strike out a single batter during his perfect game.
k) yes the New Era logo on the caps looks terrible. If you only discover this today you are way too late. The Uniscenti have had this news for months, and you should have bitched along with me all winter. I cannot help you now.
ICYMI a poll says New Yorkers like the Mets over the Yankees now. You’re all frontrunners and the Yankees are 0-1. New hashtag #KeepNewYork, as it has been taken back.
The Mets have a Do Your Thing sign. This will open up many comedic possibilities as surely someone’s thing will be “come in and blow a lead in the 7th” or “strike out with the bases loaded.” Anyway, more in the local newspaper.
The Mets had the Welcome Home dinner. I guess the whole travel sleep thing doesn’t matter and you can have a Sunday night event before a day game without anyone dying. File that away for when everyone is crying about flying a private jet later in the season.
