Dear Howie, Josh, Wayne, Pete & Maj,
I have to break up with you.
I’ve repeatedly asked for someone to do something about the poor quality of the broadcasts on the WOR App. As is well discussed, every time the game goes to the local WOR commercials the audio gets WAY TOO LOUD. This has been going on for at three seasons now. I can no longer take it.
On the AM side, there’s this metallic pulsing behind the broadcast. It only appears on the baseball part of the broadcast. It doesn’t appear during the commercials. It doesn’t appear during normal programming. It doesn’t appear during WOR shows like Len & Schnitt. I have to assume you’re doing something to the signal which I could understand except it makes the signal unenjoyable. And then your board-op told me I was imagining it, and then he sent me a video that shows the noise. But you won’t care. It’s just me the cranky blogger making all this up.
So today I switched to the Marlins feed on the APP. Was it Howie & Josh good? Of course not. However I didn’t get my ears blasted after every half inning. I didn’t have to listen to WAH-wah-WAH-wah-WAH-wah every time someone took a breath. It wasn’t Hall of Fame, but it didn’t annoy me, and at this point that’s good enough for a broadcast.
So Howie and Josh (and gang), I wish you well, but I’m done. This is the summer of the Opponent’s Broadcast.
