The Mets will host the annual Food Drive presented by Hain Celestial benefitting The River Fund NY during the National Series beginning Friday, June 16 through Sunday, June 18 at Citi Field. The collection will begin two hours prior to each game. Fans donating 10 items or more of nonperishable nutritious food will receive a voucher for one pair of tickets to a select Mets home game in 2017.
Among the items most needed are: canned fruit, vegetables and proteins, plastic jars of peanut butter, packages of hot or cold cereal, and similar packaged foods. Items that will not be accepted are: unlabeled, expired, or dented cans; any open packaging; products that need to be refrigerated; or homemade products. The River Fund NY is a hunger-relief organization based in Richmond Hill, Queens.
