Back in 2013, the Mets had THE NEXT SEAVER. He was super groovy and everyone was excited about his upcoming Hall of Fame career. He even started the All Star Game at Citi Field!
The Mets also had an All Star named David Wright. He was the third baseman back in those days.
The original Next Seaver, Tom Seaver took the mound for what may very well wind up being Tom’s last time on a mound in Queens. He hasn’t since, right? If I am forgetting one please remind me. I’m not being jerky here, I am realizing it as I type it that this might be Tom’s last time on a mound in Queens…and that’s very sad.
