I say this every year, but with these next two days being some of the most dead days of the annual sports calendar, I think MLS should grab it.
People still hang out in bars (hey it’s Volleyball & Wings night where I live) and stare at TVs. People like sports on TV when they are home.
So MLS – why don’t you grab this?
Have everyone play – and try and do it in two windows of 7pm/10pm tonight and tomorrow. Have your TV partners do whiparounds. Get on TV screens.

ESPN Poker and drone racing. Poker and drone racing. Tomorrow is the Mike & The Mad Dog 30 for 30 (yes you care but your counterparts in Boston, Philly, Los Angeles and Topeka don’t) and the X Games.
FS1 does have the Gold Cup tonight – so at least that’s something soccer. USA plays at 9. Hooray soccer. Now we get into international breaks etc. I dunno, solve this somehow. Thursday is Mexico-Jamaica
….but International Break does seem solved since the Red Bulls play the Revolution in some US Open Cup action. Two “MLS sexy” teams…but guess what channel it is on. Guess again. Guess again. Guess again. Wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong. It’s not on TV at all. It’s on ussoccer.com
