So a lot of people became Born Again Mets Fans two years ago, and now that the 2018 Rebuild has started they will be leaving us.
It was just one year ago where the Yankees fans were confused that their team decided to rebuild, and somehow that turned into the nouveau term “reload.”
We’ll see if the Mets “reload” here, but it seems the 2015 World Series team is now in the past, and tonight is Day 1 of what’s next.
The Mets run did not last, nor did the Yankees ineptitude. Once again we are the little brother no matter how much this sentence annoys you, no matter how much you want to yell at me on twitter for writing it. Once again the wheels came off in Queens.
So let’s watch Rosario, wait for Dom Smith, enjoy these last days of good soldiers Granderson and Bruce (whether they leave in August or after October 1). Let’s hope Terry gets to go out with his team fighting hard before he decides all on his own to retire.
And then we’ll come back in February and we’ll see what Tim Teufel’s Mets have in store for us.
In the meantime, if you got here when Cespedes did, I hope you enjoyed your two year vacation, and enjoy the 4 train back to the Judge’s Chambers or whatever the hell goes on up there.
Everyone else who has been calling me a bad fan….we’ll see which of us is still here next year.
