Mets Police 90s Week: 1994, the end of Dr. K

The 1994 Mets are so bad that they get two posts out of me.

You can always tell what kind of year it is from the yearbook cover.  See all the loveable stars the Mets marketed?

Gooden went 3-4 before being suspended for cocaine, and while on that suspension was suspended for all of 1995.   Wow.  For you kids, imagine finding one of your current favorite Mets wasn’t coming back for a year – oh wait that happens all the time, you do know what that’s like, fortunately drugs are not involved.

So close the book on Dr. K, but Dallas Green is here now to steer the ship with Pete Smith, Mike Remlinger and Jason Jacome (who Greg Prince may have even forgotten) making up three fifths of your rotation.

This was the last year of Real Baseball which ended in a strike, and when baseball resumed it had Wild Cards and steroids and nothing would ever again be the same.

The Mets were 54-59 which is Great considered to the last two seasons.

Oh well, if this strike ever ends I will pick up the series…..
