…from here I have to wonder what the point is. As a non-Cubs fan it seems to me that the attraction of Wrigley Field was that it was old. At least for me, when I went there, it was cool because it was old.
Since I last attended they’ve added jumbotrons and now I see this. Are they replacing all the seats?
I get the desire for a modern ballpark, but at some point, isn’t this just the Idea of Wrigley. Aren’t you just building a half-ass modern park shoehorned between some old brick walls (although I think some of those were replaced too.)
I have no dog in this fight. At some point I’ll be in Chicago and I’ll hit a game and I bet I will find it weird. If Cubs fans like it (and they seem to from what I can tell) then that’s cool. But from here, I wonder why they didn’t just start over with New Wrigley (aka The CubsDome) if they’re going to do all this.
