Rookie Mets manager who pitched and coached in the AL decides to bat pitcher 8th

ICYMI (and how could you since all nine beat reporters retyped it) here’s tomorrow’s lineup.

Mickey Callaway, former Rays, Angels and Rangers pitcher and Indians coach (those teams are in the American League if you are new, and in the AL they have wacky rules where pitchers don’t bat) has decided to bat the pitcher 8th because reasons.

The Mickey Mafia has lapped this up as pure genius. I’m less convinced, but the Mickey Mafia has big time drunk the Kool Aid this spring. Let’s hope it works. LGM and all that.

Press play for the exciting lineup reveal.  Oh and Yo is batting 2nd because someone decided that’s where the stud batters bat.  The 1927 Yankees had it all wrong.
