Mets Police Morning Laziness: Mets 86 the Marlins, huge start for Wheeler

SLACKISH REACTION:  Wow.  Let’s remain calm here but that resilience we saw from the Mets last night really reminded me of the 1986 team. That was the feeling night after night, the Mets were never out of it and would never roll over and die.

Today, Wheeler hits the rotation and we will see The Five in the rotation for the first time.  I still don’t think the baseball gods will allow it, so live in fear all day that Matz will retire to something.

Check out Ron Darling’s video tour of the press guys eating.

Michael Baron says the Mets will wear these snazzy Jackie Robinson sweatshirts on Sunday.

I am serious about this next point.  Today is a huge start for Wheeler.  Here’s why.

Things are going incredibly well.  You know this fanbase.  If he comes out and has a sucky outing he will become Public Enemy #1.  He has no goodwill with the fans to let a bad start slide.  He will become the new Montero.   And he deserves none of that.

Hopefully he has a great game and the Mets can come home 10-1, would that not be Amazin’?
