Let’s read the horror show that is today’s Mets post game notes

Mets Intern #5 is cool and sends these over.  I usually don’t talk Games Stuff but since this week is so horrible…

The Mets were shut out in back-to-back games for the first time this season and the first time since June 30-July 1, 2015 vs. Chicago-NL…For Atlanta it marks the first time they’ve tossed back-to-back shutouts since October 2-4, 2015 when they had three consecutive shutouts vs. the Cardinals…Overall, it’s the Braves fourth shutout of the season (all have come on the road).

The Mets were outscored in the three-game series 21-2 and have not scored a run in their last 18.0 innings dating to the ninth inning of Tuesday night’s game…Today’s three hits were a tied a season-low (third time) and the Mets have six hits in their last two games.

Jason Vargas: Allowed six runs, earned, on 11 hits in 4.2 innings and suffered his second loss in as many starts…The last Mets starter to allow at least six earned runs in each of his first two starts of the season was Bret Saberhagen in 1992.

Matt Harvey: Allowed five runs, earned, in 2.0 innings out of the bullpen…In four relief appearances this year, Harvey has allowed seven runs, all earned, in 6.0 innings of work (10.50 ERA).

Cody Asche: The Mets have signed infielder Cody Asche to a minor league contract…He will report to Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.

But most importantly, to me anyway, Time: 2:40

Three straight quick games!  They can lose every game every day if they can do it in under 3 hours as far as I’m concerned!
