Mickey Callaway’s press conference today was an embarrassment. For the manager of a team to meet the media and say he didn’t know what Cespedes said last night is staggeringly weak. If the Mets sent him out to do that, shame on them. That he agreed to do it, well, shame on him.

Talking to people that have been around the Mets for years, they were aghast at Callaway’s performance. The whole session seemed like an SNL skit. No one can believe that Callaway allowed himself to look like that. And why would the team want their manager to look so inept?
