Mets Police Morning Laziness: #MetsComediansUnited

The 4th place Mets have opened up a huge three game lead over the Marlins and are now just 9.5 games behind the third place Nationals with a lot of baseball left!  Todd Frazier’s OPS is .660

SLACKISH REACTION:  I made it through 7 innings of Mets-Marlins, the dregs of baseball.  Then my choices were watch Mets-Marlins, or go pick up my kid and drive around for an hour.  I picked B.

I realized the Comedians are gone.  This is an annual occurrence.  When the Mets are 11-1 you hear a lot from the comedians.  They get promoted as SuperFans and they put out videos and stuff.  Then they disappear.  You can tell how well the Mets are doing by the amount of comedians.  Who knows, maybe a comedian will show up in Miami tonight.  I believe its yet another T-Shirt Enthusiast night.  Yippee!

The comedians are like the opposite of the frontrunners at #MetsFansUnited 1.0, a group that disbanded in April and are now trying to steal my hashtag from me.  #MetsFansUnited 2.0 is of course a group devoted to supporting the Mets!  When the Mets are good you don’t hear from MFU, only from the comedians.  At least the comedians are actually presently boycotting.

I felt like recording a podcast, so I did. I even spoke about the Mets Fans United nonsense.  Listen here (or right below this sentence)

Happy Harvey Day bitches.  I would probably blow off tonight’s Mets game, but it overlaps with the ever-popular Harvey Days posts.  The Reds play nice snazzy 6:40 games.

I was thinking about how much it must have sucked when the Reds got put in the NL West because the Cards and Cubs were bullies.  Or Atlanta in the west. These were the days when you played everyone in your division 18 times.  Imagine all those 11pm games back in the days of 8pm starts.  YUCK.

NOT LINKING:   an article says Mickey would like to return as manager.  No way.  I thought when the reporter asked him if he’d like to come back he would say no, I have done a bad job and the Mets should fire me.  Come on Newspaper.
