The folks at #MetsFansUnited, if there even is such a thing….I am really starting to think the whole thing is Sacha Baron Cohen trolling me and I am falling for it…..if there even is such a thing, they are having a terrible week.
On Friday, at 10pm, they held a conference call. The call was not well planned. From what I understand, if more than one person tried to speak the entire thing became a mess. Wait until the MFUs find out about Free Conference Calls or Google Chats or Facebook Hangs or anything else.
Anyway, Frank – the guy you know from the news as the guy who was late to the 2016 Opener because of New Jersey Transit – Frank was the guest speaker.
The plan? You’re supposed to show up Saturday Night and wear a bag over your head. How you are getting in without buying a ticket is beyond me, but these guys don’t understand the Mets get a cut of the secondary market. I guess you could meet a scalper in the parking lot of the Sam Goody like we did in 1982…maybe that’s the plan.
Anyway…bags.
Now today I see this…
in a sense, you’re right. I was named the interim leader of this movement about an hour ago. Myself, our volunteer committee, and most importantly the fans and their committal, will determine exactly what our next step will be. would love to have your input, man..

Wait, what? What happened to the leadership? Where did they go?
Anyway this Tim fellow seems nicer than the previous leaders (you know, the ones that took April and May off), and I think means well, so lets read his blog post.
We demand that the Mets to name a president of said baseball operations, as well as an analytics-focused general manager.
Hmmmm….let’s see….a guy to run baseball operations, with an analytics based POV. Maybe the guy should be someone you could respect, like a Marine. Let’s see…
I mean, seriously MFU, what are we even doing?
The main MFU website page has not been updated. I am glad the New Leader has a blog and twitter account so we can follow along.
Oh one more thing….earlier today Twitter announced a partnership with the Overwatch League. The Wilpons are one of the founders of the league. So, ya see, when you support twitter you are supporting their partners which includes…..never mind, these guys don’t get it no matter how much I try to explain it.
Look, if you think watching a baseball game is fun, watch it. If you want to attend a game, attend it. If you don’t don’t.
As for me, I am looking forward to Bag Night. I can use the easy content.
