Matt Harvey Recap: For one shiny inning, The Dark Knight Totally Returned. 10Ks! You’ll look.

It was a rainy Saturday and once again The Dark Knight returned!

So far, a typical MH Cincy start would be a shaky first followed by some clean innings then a shaky 5th or 6th. Would today be the same for our caped crusader?

Matt looks ready and the first Padre goes down 1-2-3.  Sit down son!

And this next guy?  1-2-3 strikes…. you’re out too.  Sit down son!

Then Matt threw ball one (97mph)….but followed it up with,,,,,wait for it…..

1-2-3 sit your ass down.  The Dark Knight is back baby!  10 pitches, 9 strikes, I think they may have all been swings and misses.

If that happened as Met you guys would be selling t-shrts by the second inning.  Looks like it could be a big day for Matty Baseball!

On to the second…

Uh oh would Matt lose the no-hitter?

No…the SS makes the play!  I already forgot his name because baseball has no stars.  Anyway, the next guy got a single.   Then a walk.  Oh fudge, is he gonna melt down?

No!  A grounder to second and a fly out and TDK escapes and we get another “Matt walks to the dugout” shot which are my faves.

Let’s go on to the 3rd and…..hey wait….is that score right?

Yes, it’s 7-0.  All Matt needs to is stay calm and throw!

Matt notched his 5th strikeout!  It’s a shutout through three and you know what, soon to be Free Agent Matt Harvey is starting to look a little hotter to supermodels than he has for the last 18 months.

The Padres got a bloop to lead off the 4th and then Hosmer stepped in and OH NO….

It’s gone goodbye!

TDK looks displeased.  To be fair it wasn’t a Reds-era rocket shot, this was one of those suspicious balls where the batter looks jammed and the ball flies 400 feet.  But hey it’s the 20th anniversary of McGwire hitting 62 and you know what I’m saying.

Anyway it’s a fly ball to center field and hey what the….

Jesus guys….

Come on man, that’s not The Real Deal’s fault.  Man on third.

And now Matt walks the next two guys and jeez here comes the pitching coach…

and we’re having meetings and yuck…

But Matt got the strikeout and escaped.  Whew that was almost a disaster.

Let’s skip ahead to the 6th because look man I got stuff to do and how long do you need this post to be and I am running out of schtick…

Another 1-2-3 inning and Matt strikes out his 10th batter!

That would be it for Matt as he grabbed his 7th win (against 8 losses) and got that ERA down to 4.87.  Today he went 6 innings, 2 runs, 4 hits and TEN Ks and don’t forget that for one shiny inning THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNED.

Matt can still pitch, and it looks like the stuff is starting to come back.  After tonight, I could see a few models answering his texts this off-season, and I bet Boras has some lofty ideas.

But for Matt, it’s another Saturday night in suburban Kentucky with Jenny the waitress  from Waffle House…poor Jenny, Matt is totally gonna break her heart.
