Who should be added to the Mets Hall of Fame? Edgardo Alfonzo

Welcome to day 4 of this awesome OFF-SEASON FILLER on who should be added to the Mets Hall of Fame.  You know who should be in?  Egdardo Alfonzo.

Like so many Mets, Fonzie didn’t quite live up to all our dreams, but he’s always been one of the beloved Mets, one of the good citizens and one of the mainstays of the 2000 National League Champions.

My blog is here to help the Mets, and they probably don’t realize that 2020 will be the 20th anniversary of that 2000 team.  The Mets also probably don’t know that the sweet spot of any nostalgia is twenty years.  What a perfect time to tap into the teenagers turned 30-somethings and let them celebrate one of their favorite players?

Now I know 2000 didn’t end in a ring, and I am aware that the Yankees won.  The Yankees fans are going to make fun of us no matter what, who cares?  Unless the Mets can run off 25 straight rings this will be an issue long past all our deaths.   Let it go.   Celebrate OUR family in 2020.

SHOULD HIS NUMBER BE RETIRED:   No.  Let’s not get crazy and turn this into the Bronx.

WHEN SHOULD THE METS INDUCT HIM:  2020, as the Mets do a yearlong celebration of the 2000 Mets.
