And in the end…I was right.   Link: Sandy Alderson regrets letting Daniel Murphy leave Mets

So this is interesting from over the weekend..

“The one thing I regret — and I told him this — was not signing Daniel Murphy,’’ Alderson said by phone Friday. “We’ve kept in touch. He’s a great person and a really good player.”

And there you have it.  A long road that started I 2008 with “who is this kid” – to a lost year getting hurt learning to play second – to being run out of town by long gone beat writers who don’t know how to evaluate players and anointed Ike Davis – to you guys wanting to start Valdespin and Dilson Herrera – to the homophobic comments – to Gary dripping with hate every time he mentioned the guy – to Murphtober to Sandy making a mistake.

I tried to tell everyone.  Oh well.

Interesting that Sandy, who is a good man, thinks Murph is a good man.  I only met Murph once, and I do not believe in homophobia, but I never felt Murph’s words came from hate.  Ignorance, but not hate.

I look forward to Murph’s adventures in Colorado, I hope Sandy wins the AL West….but boy, what coulda been Sandy, what coulda been.

Back to you Gare.
