So, remember there are only two grades. Sterling or Scully. Let’s listen to the call as a TV call. Clearly the ball is gone. Clearly the outfielder knows he won’t catch up to it. There’s no reason to mention a track or wall. There is no unnecessary forcing of a catch phrase. There’s no reason to say It is High, It Is Far, It’s Outta Here because it’s obviously out of here.
Verdict: Scully. Sometimes less is more, and sometimes more is way too much. Thank you annoucerless home run for illustrating the point!
