Angels and local newspaper still pretending that Matt Harvey’s start against the Yankees was good

So yeah, yesterday’s start was pretty good for TDKoala.  Not Next Seaver good, but Solid #3 Starter good. (which is what he was projected as before you guys filled his head with nonsense).  Here’s that recap, and Matt’s thoughts below.

“I think the big thing was you put together a decent start the last outing and then you try and go out and keep that going and the thought of that crept in my head early this morning,” Harvey said. “I kind of used that as energy to just stay focused and keep my attention close to that… You don’t want to be a one-hit wonder, and have two bad ones and then a good one. You want to keep the intensity up and keep the streak rolling of decent starts.”

But what caught my eye was a tweet that continued The Narrative that this is two solid starts in a row for Matt.   It’s not.  It’s one.  Yes I know what the boxscore says about the game against the Yankees – but I also have eyes and that was one hell of a scary start. (read the recap)

What the boxscore and The Narrative ignore is the 385 foot fly ball outs that often leave the park on warm nights – and that whoever Mike Trout is seems to be a pretty good defensive center fielder.   See above – that Yankees one could have been a disaster.

Wait, he’s a good defensive CFer and can hit and baseball doesn’t promote him?  That’s weird.  But I digress.

Anyway Angels fans, believe what you want, but this is one good start in a row not two – you’re just excited that the one before wasn’t a complete disaster.

And yeah, Matt Harvey content does do better than anything else I post.
